A Week in Pictures

I was skimming through a scrapbooking magazine and noticed an article about a crazy woman encouraging the readers to take a picture a day for an entire year and make a scrapbook. I am not about to try that but I did force myself to take a picture a day during this past week for no apparent reason, I suppose, other than to share on my blog. I am not really sure I need to be encouraged to take more pictures but I did get some fun shots.

Monday- Paper Grading

Welcome to my life of grading papers. Notice the color coordination I use for each unit of study. The packets encapsulate all the work for the Brave New World Unit. The shortest stack of boring white papers represents the intense grading of AP practice essays. The other day a radio talk show host was discussing the idea that any one can be a teacher as long as they know the material. Any takers... be my guest (I don't think the months of June, July and August can adequately make up for the many hours of grading I do outside of school)

Tuesday- Snow Day

Max loves the help his dad with snow removal... mostly as the target, just in case Jason forgets where to put the snow.

Wednesday- Mobile Baby

Klein is not quite crawling yet but can roll and scoot around pretty quickly. I guess I can't put off child proofing any longer, nor can I neglect the floors for weeks at a time. It is pretty sad when your baby becomes the floor sweeper and must be changed after one round on the hardwood.

Thursday- Love/Hate
I have a serious love/ hate relationship with these two innocent looking items. I love to eat them both but hate that they are not necessarily Weight Watchers approved. I am a little bit surprised that Klein was not pink with ears given my intense craving for pink marshmallow bunnies last year (yes, they have to be pink). Too bad Easter is not in March like last year... it would save a few weeks of major calorie intake on my part.

Friday- Grandma Dixie's
Nearly every Friday afternoon we find ourselves at Grandma Dixie's. Max is always begging to go there and I love to visit with my mom to catch up on the events of the week. Klein loves to see Sassy the cat and has a little meow sound when she sees her. Klein also loves drooling all over my cell phone.

Saturday- Ski Lessons?

This is the morning before ski lessons... Max usually does great but was struggling without the clamp holding his skis together. Jason effortlessly took him down all of Gentle Ben on his shoulders.
After lessons... he loved his lesson and really wanted to go back out to ski but the mountain was closing. He told Jason "Dad, I am good now... let's go ski!"

Sunday- Our "Hot Rod" and the "Baby Nest"

On Sunday afternoons, Jason's heads out to the shop to assess the progress on what Max calls our "hot rod." Some day we will be driving this beauty at the Cruise In.

We have a bit of a problem with napping at our house. Klein has been napping on our bed since she was born. She sleeps in her crib at night but it is too loud and bright in her room during the day. This has lately become a major problem because she has fallen off the bed twice. I went out and bought a playpen to put in our room for her to sleep in but she will have none of that. We have resorted to making a large nest of pillows for her which will work for now but then what?

slacking...

Does anyone else ever dream of the day when life will slow down and some of those dusty items on your to do list will be crossed off? Well, I think I will quit dreaming because it is taking up too much time! Some day... maybe...

Meanwhile, here are some pictures taken since the last post. Max enjoyed his 5th birthday and I swear has grown a full size since that day. Klein continues to be the sweetest, most content baby (and still sleeping a solid 12 hours almost every night). Jason and Max went with our neighbors for a boys night out at Monster Truck Jam and had a great time (ear protection a must for this event). Max informed me that when he grows up he wants to be a farmer, ski patroller, and a monster truck driver-- and continues becoming an expert in each subject.
