I Heart Summer

Even though I have been in class every day and writing an endless amount of papers, I have been able to have lots of fun with the kids. The minute I get home, I devote the entire afternoon and evening to them and then stay up late into the night writing and studying but not reading a word out of the ridiculously expensive textbooks I have had to buy. Last night our neighborhood had a little firework party and I can't help but feel extremely blessed to live in such a wonderful place surrounded by amazing people. I didn't get any pictures but it was a great night. Here are some other fun pictures of our June adventures (where did that month go anyway?)

Tee Ball All Star

Tonight Max's tee ball season came to a close. He has done a great job this year and it has been fun to watch. He is still focused on becoming a power hitter and needs some improvement in the field but overall it has been a great season. He is already asking to play again this summer... anyone know where to find a fall baseball league for a five year old?

Max's biggest fan...

Usually I spend all summer doing absolutely nothing but I had the crazy idea to take 18 credits in 6 weeks this summer. I have been stuck in class every day from 8-5 and then writing papers all night after the kids go to bed. In three weeks and one day, I will be finished and hopefully, will think it was worth it but right now I am wondering who lets me do these crazy things?

Jumping Before Walking

So, Klein can jump on the tramp all by herself. It is kind of a strange phenomenon since she isn't walking yet. She has amazing balance and determination. Will jumping before walking make her some kind of all star athlete... in which sport? The warm weather has everyone smiling, flipping and clapping for joy!

On the subject of all star athletes... Max got a new set of golf clubs just his size and he has been practicing with Dad. It is amazing what they have for five year old kids these days. Max is bound to be a pro athlete in some sport right? Okay, I am not that crazy parent but it is pretty scary how young these kids have to start in a sport to even have a chance at the high school team anymore and how specialized they have to become. Trust me- seeing it from the high school side it would be nice to go back to the good old days of sports "just for fun."

State Champs!

So I am a pretty hopeless kind of super senior but since I do teach at MC, I can celebrate their baseball state championship without too much shame. We follow MC baseball pretty religiously thanks to Jason and also because I have nearly the entire team in my sports lit class, I feel like bragging up their amazing state championship. All week we have wanted to go down and watch them play but neve quite made it because of major surgery. We decided if they could pull out the win Friday morning, we would be there for the championship game. After four extremely intense, seventh inning heriocs games I have officially decided that Max cannot play sports- I was a nervous wreck! It was a fun game to watch and even better that they won. Jason's comment on the way out of the park: "Okay Max, we have to start practicing tomorrow so you can be a state champ." I think we have a lot of baseball ahead of us.... Max, in his tee ball uniform... doesn't he look like a state champ already?

On Friday afternoon we went to watch the Mountain Crest baseball team. Max wanted to dress up in his baseball pants and cleats. He was so excited to be there and then wanted to practice all night. He fell into bed exhausted. He is a pretty handsome little baseball player.

Klein is everywhere these days and loves pulling herself up to anything. She also loves eating paper and constantly has a smile on her face.
