Bear Lake

We just finished our annual week at Bear Lake and the kids had a blast. They both love swimming and we found ourselves at the pool at least three times a day. We spent one morning at the beach but the water was a little chilly. Max spent hours riding his bike around the resort. He loves playing with his cousins. He played miniature golf and even braved the rock climbing wall. At the pool there is a small slide that he had fun playing on. When he was finally brave enough to go into the deep water, he didn't want to stop and got more daring with each turn. Klein had a lot of fun riding her bike and playing in the water. She was exhausted every night. Jason came over for two evenings which made the trip even better. The weather was perfect and it was a fun trip. Thanks Mom for making it possible every year!

Happy Birthday Klein!

Klein turned 2 today and as I look back, I can't believe how time has flown by. She has brought so much joy to our family. A few things about Klein...

She has always been very sweet and thoughtful. If you are holding her and rub her back, she will rub yours back. She gives lots of hugs and kisses. She has a soft spot in her heart for all animals and babies.
She does everything Max does. It was really hard to know what to buy for her birthday because she usually just follows Max around and tries to play with his stuff.
She has grown up so fast and really doesn't seem like a two year old. She rides a bike and knows her colors. She sings primary songs and does puzzles and she wears 4T clothes.
She hasn't napped for almost six months so she is usually exhausted at the end of the day. Luckily, she will sleep for 12 hours and has done almost since she was born.
She loves to ride the four- wheeler at Grandpa's and as we drive by the cows she waves to all of them. She also points out every tractor and horse that we pass while driving in the car.

We went to Toy Story 3- her first movie and she loved it. She let her aunt Shauna do her hair so cute while I ran to get her present. We had cake and ice cream with all four grandparents. She loved her balloons and cake. Max was very helpful as she blew out her candles and opened her presents. He is taking care of some of them for her :) We got her a fish and two miniature frogs. She was really hard to buy for this year because she doesn't play with anything exclusively. She mostly just does what Max is doing but she loves animals and was really excited about the fish and frogs. I just hope the cat doesn't get them.

We love you Klein!

Holiday Weekend

The fourth of July weekend was one big party around here....
It started with a trip into the car show on Friday night but no fireworks for us. The kids were just too tired. Saturday the boys went to the car show and then Saturday night Jason drove my dad's car in the Cruise In parade. He took Marshall, Max, and Klein while I rode with my mom in the Corvette. The weather was great- not too hot and the kids had fun. Sunday was a busy day- I taught primary, then we went to a farewell for my aunt and uncle, then it was off to Faris and Lori's for their annual BBQ. We made a quick stop at my parents after that and there were marshmellows to roast and bottle rockets flying. It was hard to tear Max away but we eventually made it back home to our own neighborhood fireworks party. Max was in heaven! On Monday, Jason golfed and then we had our own little fireworks at our house so Klein could get in on some of the action. What a weekend!

Summer Fun

Since I can't get anything done at home, we spend most of our time at the pool. We usually hit the Logan Aquatic Center but have ventured across the mountain to the Brigham pool and the one in North Ogden. Last week we headed to Bear Lake but things didn't turn out so well.... there was no beach, the weather was windy and cloudy, Klein threw up on the way over and then spilled an entire container of fry sauce on her and had to ride back without any clothes in a very stinky car seat. The smell is still taking over my car. For the majority of last summer I was in class so it is nice to relax. I finished up my last assignment for my administrative license and I promise I will never go back to school. It feels good to finally be done with everything! Well everything except for my sewing and scrapbook projects that I keep avoiding...

MVP

I am slow posting this but last week, Max was chosen as the MVP for his baseball game. He is really working hard and learning the game. He had three awesome hits- one went over the outfielders! I am proud of him because he is the youngest (and smallest) on his team. His dad was very proud of him too.

Cool June

So far we have had a "cool" June....

We have tried the pool twice so far and despite the wind, rain and not quite 70 degree weather had lots of fun. Max and Klein both love the water. Max braved the big slide by himself which made me a bit nervous but he loved it.
Max has a few more weeks of baseball. He is improving with every game and having fun even though he is the youngest on the team. He got a new bat and last game he played catcher. His dad is a great coach and they are both having fun. Klein loves cheering for Max and Dad.
Today Max finished his frst official golf lesson. It was a bit early for him to wake up but once we got there, he had a great time. He has some trouble differentiating between his golf and baseball swing but improved a lot this week. For the last day, the kids got to go out and play on the course. He was very proud that he hit it in the sand which made me laugh. The worst part for him was not being able to wear his basketball shorts. I signed him up for one more round of lessons but at a later time. Klein wants to play too, of course, and I don't blame her.
The last two weeks I have golfed 18 holes which is something new for me. I walked both times and was exhausted after. I don't know how much longer I will be able to play but it does feel good to get out and I am getting better so I don't want to stop now. I have enjoyed the cooler weather. When it reached 80 degrees I felt way too hot but I only have 11 more weeks! It is one of those things that I want to rush but don't want time to speed by so quickly and I have about a million things I need to get done. We visited my Grandma Maxine last Friday and went to a darling fabric store in Preston where I proceeded to buy material for even more projects.
Jason got me a new car last Friday. I feel very spoiled but we did need something with captains chairs in the middle section so we can fit all three kids in the car. I miss the white car because when it was dirty it was not as noticeable. Now, I am wanting to wash it every time it gets a few spots- I guess I learned that from my dad.

Summer!

A few updates...

Yesterday I became the proud owner of a new iMac computer. Our old one had too many viruses and was so slow. It is very nice but will take some getting used to. It was hard not having a computer at home!

Max has started baseball and there is nothing cuter than a kid in a baseball uniform. He plays twice a week in a coach pitch league. He is an excellent batter (last night going 2 for 3) but he doesn't always like to play in the field. Jason is helping coach and does a great job with the kids.
Klein is as busy as ever copying her brother's every move. She is now riding a little bike with training wheels and is very busy all day long. She hasn't taken an afternoon nap for months but falls into bed every night exhausted after singing to me. She is a sweet girl with lots of energy.

I am loving the summer so far although I doubt I will get much done. I have many projects that I want to do but the kids are keeping me busy. The weather has been very mild but on the days that it does reach 80 degrees, I think it is already too hot. 13 more weeks and our new little girl will arrive. I hope I am ready for three kids!

Jason and I have both been golfing a lot already this year. I joined the Logan River Women's Association and even have a handicap. I have golfed more this year than in the past 10 years combined. It has been lots of fun and great exercise. Jason got me a new set of clubs and they have made a huge difference. I don't know how much longer I will be able to play but for now it will work. I told Jason that we should name our baby "Birdie" because she has been spending a lot of time on the course. Max is taking some lessons this summer and I can't wait until Klein can golf with me too.

Memorial Day brought about two seconds of sunshine and Jason was checking the sprinklers so the kids immediately ran to get their swimsuits on but Klein didn't understand why she couldn't play without a top on and kept trying to take it off.
