A New Year

I love the fresh start to a new year and the possibilities that lie ahead. I am looking forward to 2011 and what it has in store for our family. When I think about time and how quickly is speeds away, I want to make sure and treasure the small moments and enjoy the little things. Since Preslee arrived, things have been a whirlwind of craziness but now things are starting to get a bit more predictable. I am to grateful for my three sweet children and my amazing husband. I am also glad to have my entire family close and to have such a great babysitter. I am very grateful for the gospel and my testimony because it gives me strength and purpose.

This year instead of making a long list of resolutions that I know I am going to break, I decided to make a goal for each month of this year... one personal and one family goal. January's personal goal is to eat healthy and the family goal is to read the scriptures together daily. So far, both are coming along nicely. Max is so excited to read the scriptures and he has been the one to keep us on track every night. He gave the primary scripture last week and had it memorized.

The rest of the year's goals are still being worked out but mostly include better health and completing projects long ago abandoned. A long standing goal of mine is to read 50 books a year but it has long eluded me. The closest I have come is 38 books but I don't think it is going to happen this year... maybe when I am retired.
